Overview

The position of Loan Review Officer Senior is responsible for analyzing all types of credit information pertaining to the most complex types of loans and making judgments as to the appropriateness of the grades of loans under review and critical aspects of management of loans under review; prepares workpapers and reports and occasionally presents reports to management or committees; maintains control over current workload; furnishes information relative to work performed and provides assistance to the Loan Review Manager and Director. 

Responsibilities

  • Review all pertinent credit and financial information, including business and personal financial statements, spreads, cash flow analyses, reports services, credit bureaus and other sources as applicable.  Capable of handling the most complex and interlocking relationships.
  • Lead loan reviews, including leading the lending units and roll-ups to loan reviews and issues at a corporate-wide level.
  • Properly risk-rates each loan/lending relationship reviewed
  • Analyze loan reporting and tracking systems and prepares appropriate comments.  Determines the need for more thorough investigation or additional information and conducts such additional procedures, as appropriate.
  • Properly evaluate credit administration processes
  • Prepare Loan Review workpapers and reviews workpapers of other officers assigned to reviews under his/her lead.
  • Ensure that all Loan Review, electronic and hard-copy, files are kept current and orderly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or Business from a four (4) year college or university,
  • Minimum of six (6) years or more related experience and/or training in credit analysis or lending. 
  • Must be familiar with a variety of industry analyses, particularly in specialty lines of business (i.e., real estate, leasing, mortgage warehousing, HOA, etc.).
  • Advanced ability to spread large, complex financial statements and tax returns and complete cash flow forecasting. 
  • Advanced ability to make pertinent comments relating to the current credit risk as reflected by the spread. 
  • Ability to train new hires and trainees in how to analyze credit and complete Loan Review procedures.
  • Knowledge of lending regulations and credit policies.
  • Extensive experience in reviewing and/or analyzing Commercial Real Estate Loans.
