The Loan Documentation Officer is responsible for documenting and reviewing complex commercial loans while ensuring compliance with established Bank policies and procedures.  Also conducts due diligence to ensure collateral perfection via the UCC or other perfection methods on all types of assets including intellectual property, real property, securities and other various collateral.


  • Documenting Commercial and Real Estate loans by using the LaserPro software program.
  • Reviews loan documentation for accuracy and completeness including but not limited to attorney prepared loan documents; monitors compliance with state and federal laws and regulations and the Bank’s lending policies and procedures.
  • Reviews and has a complete understanding of credit authorizations, including complex pricing structures and prepares the appropriate loan documents and related contracts needed to address the authorizations.
  • Reviews loan files prior to loan booking to ensure compliance with the credit authorizations.
  • Maintains monitoring system to ensure follow-up items are being reported, tracked and resolved properly and timely.
  • Advanced understanding of Bank policies and procedures as well as Federal, State and other regulatory requirements.
  • Consistently applies superior decision making techniques pertaining to inquiries, approvals, requests as they apply to existing policies and procedures, keeping within assigned approval limits.
  • Assists Departement Manager, Loan Officers and other Bank personnel on department business to coordinate inter and intra-departmental activities
  • Resolves inquiries or issues relating to loan documentation preparation matters.


  • High School or GED
  • Five (5) or more years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Commercial lending/Accounting/Finance experience preferred. Paralegal certificate a plus.
  • Intermediate skills in personal computer operation; mainframe computer (ITI) system; word processing, spreadsheet and account opening software programs (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, LaserPro etc.).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail and customer service focused.
