Overview

The ACH/RDC Operations Specialist is responsible for providing operational support in our combined ACH/RDC department. The Specialist will be assisting Team Leads and Department Manager as directed; providing general and technical support to internal and external customers with respect to the Bank’s electronic banking products; handling ACH returns and ACH exceptions, researching complex transaction, performing client setup and maintenance, approving check deposits, and participating in projects. 

 

The Specialist will partner with Treasury Management Operations and Support teams, Operations support teams, AAB operations, Accounting Department.

 

Candidate must be able available to work Mon-Fri from 10:00am- 8:30pm. This is a 40 hour/week position; however candidates must maintain full availability during these hours.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to all assigned areas of the department where service or assistance is needed.
  • Provides technical and general support to customers and Bank personnel with respect to the Bank’s ACH products and services including Positive Pay. 
  • Originates and maintains applicable documentation; and enters customer information into various product computer programs.
  • Performs review of new RDC customers, large deposited items, and payee matching and completing follow-through of documentation with internal staff for identified exceptions .
  • Monitors ACH customer activity via computer terminal programs and/or various reports to verify transactions, track trends, usage and profitability.
  • Performs daily maintenance of ACH products; customer additions, changes or deletions; conducts daily callback of maintenance reports.
  • Handles customer inquiries related to ACH products and services; answers questions of a general nature; provides step-by-step technical instruction and support; and trouble-shoots and resolves problems.
  • Assists in special projects and tasks for the department of a diverse nature under the direction of the ACH Operations Supervisor or Treasury Management Operations Group Manager. 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education from a technical or trade school; or three (3) or more years related experience and/or training.  
    • Work related experience should consist of a technical background in banking ACH operations, information resources, products or services.
    • Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or technical industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
  • Basic knowledge of NACHA Operating Rules
  • ACH Certificate or AAP Certification preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Bank Operations, products and services; related state and federal laws and regulations, and other Bank operational policies and procedures.
  • Intermediate experience with personal and mainframe computer systems.
  • Ability to deal with difficult technical problems involving multiple facets, variables and situations where only limited standardization exists.
