Overview

The Network Administrator is responsible for the operations and administration of the WAN and LAN networks and participates in resolution of network related issues that impact business operations.  In addition, the administrator performs tasks associated with internal and business projects to improve the overall health of the company network.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, configures, and monitors network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, VPN’s, OOB devices, and related systems at all sites.
  • Interact with vendors, service providers, site contacts, and internal teams to deliver network projects and tasks
  • Maintains network performance by conducting network monitoring and analysis, troubleshooting network problems, and escalating problems to vendors and engineering teams
  • Performs network maintenance activities and keeps documentation up to date
  • Maintains a ticket queue with attention to customer service quality
  • Performs configuration and management of the Cisco phones and CUCM and UCCX applications
  • Supports data center facilities and services.  Performs after-hours systems support, installation, and maintenance as required
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with security and operational standards and procedures
  • Performs upgrades and installations within scheduled maintenance periods
  • Participates in on-call rotation within Infrastructure Engineering staff
  • Practices network asset management, including management of component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information
  • Minimal travel required to California, Nevada, Arizona

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED and 2+ years of Network Administration experience required 
  • 3 years of experience in an IT environment is required 
  • 2+ years of practical Cisco experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Cisco VOIP Network Components
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs
  • Hands on experience with server closet equipment, cabling and patching, and hardware management
  • Experience managing systems in Local and Wide Area Networks required
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities
  • Customer service attitude with team player mentality
