The Core (Banking) Systems Manager is responsible for being the primary liaison between WAB and key strategic vendors, specifically the core system vendor and other ancillary systems. As the subject matter expert, have in-depth knowledge about the various systems, interfaces, and vendor. Coordinates large, higher complexity projects, mergers and acquisitions. Manages the team of core system technical analysts. Is the center post for related escalations


  • Participate in major projects relating to core, including merger and acquisition activities. Maintains in-depth knowledge of all core applications, ancillary systems and WAB users.
  •  Has a deep understanding of all interfaces between core and ancillary systems and the clients which facilitates quick issue diagnosis and resolution. Provides support to WAB to ensure all business processes and user experience needs are met related to core systems. Works closely with Release Management and the QA team to coordinate Business UAT testing prior to publishing releases.
  •  Manages vendor and overall performance. Acts as single point of contact for vendor and Bank. Manages weekly meetings with vendor and escalates items as necessary. Manages requests and tickets with vendor. Manages vendor’s client portal and ensures that employees are maintained accordingly. Analyzes monthly spends with vendors and resolves any discrepancies or credits back
  •  Works closely with members of the Technology, Operations, Loans, ePMO, IT Vendor Management, Product and Finance teams to understand short and long terms needs and develops potential solutions with key vendors. Ensures the test bank and related data are maintained; ensures that Bank Control changes stay current.
  •  Assist with BIC reporting as needed. Audit user list and maintain as necessary. Audits user access reports and escalates as necessary. Center-posts all core and online banking technical conversion and integration activities resulting from mergers and acquisitions.
  •  Manages team of analysts.
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  •  Ten years of banking experience required with knowledge of all types of finance services.
  •  Five years of experience required in a support role working with business users and third-party vendors, including FIS core and online banking systems. FIS Core Banking application experience is preferred.
  •  Strong communication, analytical, leadership, and decision making skills to effectively uncover and resolve complex issues.
  •  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure as needed.
