Overview

The Loan Servicing Officer (Insurance) will be responsible for ensuring the high quality of insurance within the file maintenance flow to the core system and other programs/systems. Identify recognition of errors and issues and make recommendations for process changes or enhancements to insurance and file maintenance processes regarding insurance; tracking and monitoring errors; providing feedback to managers for improvements with processes pertaining to direct input to systems.

Responsibilities

Processes incoming insurance binders and updating to mainframe computer FIS system and Baker Hill system with appropriate expiration dates

  • Provides verification of insurance policies to include correct deductible amounts consistent with Bank policy
  • Contacts insurance agents on loans to verify current insurance coverage is obtained on loan collateral and forwarded to the Bank.
  • Assists loan officers in contacting customers regarding expired insurance policies and obtaining current policies
  • Participate in achievement of Service Level Standards, risk management, quality control, and adherence to policy and procedure
  • Provide guidance, training, coaching, mentoring, and support to staff members and others

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA) or equivalent from a four (4) year collect or university and two (2) or more years of related experience or a combination of education and seven (7) years of work experience. Work related experience should consist of related experience in the financial industry with emphasis in loan servicing and/or operations. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be applicable to the financial industry.
  • Ability to analyze various business situations and problems, determine solutions in keeping with corporate culture and objectives, and develop and successfully implement changes and plans to achieve desired results
  • Demonstrated experience with insurance maintenance and quality assurance for loan files
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lead less experienced staff members as needed
  • Ability to work independently while performing duties
  • Advanced knowledge of Bank policies and procedures and Bank products and services
