Overview

The Security Engineer II, working with the Information Security group and Bank Business Units is responsible for the engineering of the Bank’s information security infrastructure.  The Security Engineer II will support, configure and maintain the McAfee EPO environment and RSA ECAT products for the firm. The successful candidate with work closely with management and our technology partners to lead, evaluate new products, and set direction for the Desktop and Server OS security stack.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work in an enterprise environment where it is required to keep up to date on security, procedures, and policies and to ensure they are consistently followed.
  • Design, build, and maintain various security technology platforms within the Western Alliance Bank environment.
  • Work with internal customers, external vendors, and managed service partners to drive proper security technology design and maintain appropriate security posture.
  • Interact with Security Operations Center Incident Responders to ensure expedient and effective resolution to information security incidents.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot all phases of security tool interactions with Western Alliance Bank assets (agents, network communications, application issues, etc.)
  • Contribute to the development of documentation for new tools and processes.
  • Support the establishment, enhancement, and continual improvement of an integrated set of correlation rules, alerts, searches, reports, and responses from multiple security platforms.
  • Support the life-cycle of security tools including coordination and planning of upgrades, new deployments, and maintaining operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Must understand Application Whitelisting and Sandboxing technologies (McAfee TIE, ATD, and DXL, RSA ECAT, Thycotic Secret Server , CyberArk etc.). Required understanding in one or more proven application whitelisting technology and supporting products listed.
  • Minimum of 6 years managing McAfee EPO environment.
  • Minimum of 10 years Security Engineering experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of general IT Networking experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 year’s experience will Privileged Account checkout products such as Thycotic Secret Server and CyberArk and RSA ECAT.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology related field or equivalent experience.
  • CISSP, CCNP, CISA, CISM, GSEC, CRISC, CEH or related certifications a plus.
