  • Overview

    This position will support the Risk Modeling Department as a Data Analyst Intern. Under the direction of the Data Team manager, the Intern will assist with all data projects. This position is a maximum 20 hour part-time internship (no benefits).


    • Actively participates as team member in the use of data science tools, such as SAS/SQL, to merge, concatenate, and verify the consistency and accuracy of data set prepared for the data modeling team.
    • Works with Team in order to properly implement data models and scorecards and integrate them into existing system architectures.
    • Be prepared to assist with executing User Acceptance Testing process including creation of acceptance criteria, development of test procedures, test execution, and test result archiving for internal system modifications and third-party deliverables.
    • Assist Team with development of software tools to automate modeling activities and processes.
    • Use Microsoft software applications to build/update Model Documentation, project plans, and provide model data analysis.
    • Develops a thorough understanding of the bank’s operations, business model, and production systems.
    • Develop reports and model output using SAS Visual Analytics, Tableau, and other Business software.
    • Special projects as requested.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.


    • Junior or Senior pursuing Bachelor’s degree in database administration, computer science, data analytics, or related field.
    • Some SQL, SAS, Excel, R, and/or other data manipulation software tools.
    • Demonstrates skill with data manipulation and building reports.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Ability to present and communicate clearly in a professional environment.
    • Must be able to work from the Downtown Phoenix location (parking garage or light rail reimbursement offered).
