Overview

The Relationship Manager – Hotel Franchise Finance handles all portfolio and relationship management for booked loans and existing customers to ensure the credit risks are responsibly monitored and identified. This position may also provide training and guidance to less experienced loan officers and other staff members; coordinate staff for coverage in all related areas of lending; and assist in attaining established Bank, region and branch goals through active participation in the sales process working closely with Relationship Managers and Business Development Officers and through the process of underwriting and closing desirable credits. The Relationship Manager is responsible for assuring compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

Responsibilities

 

  • Interface with existing hotel franchise finance customers in-person, over the phone and email to maintain customer relationship and obtain information needed for periodic credit reviews. 
  • Work closely with the Loan Officers and Market Managers to develop the client relationship and ensure a timely credit process. 
  • Gather and analyze necessary information to present a financing request to senior management or Loan Committee for approval; recommend acceptance to the Director of Hotel Franchise Finance.  
  • Coordinate processing of approved loans; ensure loans are processed according to agreement, customer needs and conform to Bank lending policies; obtain sufficient information and/or documentation from customers; solve problems relative to processing and servicing of loans within your portfolio; approve loan disbursements in accordance with agreements.  
  • Reinforce superior customer service through your own example along with appropriate follow-through with involved customers and employees. 
  • Handle various other underwriting, closing and portfolio management and upkeep tasks and responsibilities.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; and three (3) or more years of related experience and/or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience. 
    • Work related experience must consist of Hotel Franchise lending.
    • Experience underwriting in an automated credit platform using credit scoring. 
    • Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related. 
  • Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies. 
  • Basic knowledge of the principles of sound credit underwriting. 
  • Basic knowledge in all facets of credit approval and general underwriting standards for institutions in the financial services industry not specializing in lending to subprime applicants.
