  • Overview

    The ACH Processing Supervisor is responsible for the management of all daily ACH processing activity including Positive Pay for the Bank.   The Supervisor’s primary focus is on ensuring that the ACH Processing team meets service level standards (customer service; turn-around time; risk management and regulatory compliance; day to day processing and balancing activities, audit soundness; and productivity and efficiency).  Monitors workflow processes to ensure ACH Operations run smoothly and efficiently, ensuring all work is completed timely within established daily deadlines.  Provides technical, functional, and operational support and serves as a point of escalation to ensure successful ACH Operations. 

    The Supervisor is also tasked with improving operational processes to mitigate identified risk concerns, increase efficiencies, and enhance the functionality and ease of use.  Foster good working relationships with leaders in partner departments including Treasury Management Operations, Treasury Management Support, Product Office, IT, Treasury Management Sales, AAB and other internal support groups, and third-party services.

    The ACH Processing Supervisor typically directs a small to medium-sized team of employees (2-12), including two or more team lead(s).


    • Supervises the ACH Processing Team in their performance of daily tasks, holding them accountable for qualitative and quantifiable results.  Monitors and reports on Service Level Standards performance and other KPI’s.  Coordinates and distributes work between individuals based on active and accurate understanding of their ability and experience, and the team and individual’s workload pipelines. 
    • Performs supervisory tasks such as performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and interviewing and hiring candidates for employment; develops work schedules, provides necessary training and coaching.
    • Provides technical support and assistance to ACH Leads and Specialists, helping to troubleshoot, and determines how and when to escalate issues; ensures staff perform their activities in compliance with bank policies and procedures, and that documentation and recordkeeping is accurately and properly maintained. 
    • Completes setup of all ACH Originators including maintenance and deletion requests on various reporting platforms.  Responsible for the team processing ACH positive pay and check positive pay scrub handling.  Responds and provides guidance to inquiries related to ACH activities from various internal and external sources, while applying sound decision making techniques and exhibiting necessary follow-through.  
    • Prepares quarterly ACH origination credit review reminders and usage reports, and special Management reports as required.  Assists Treasury Management Operations Group Manager with various projects and initiatives.  Actively participates in assuring quality controls in regards to audit and certifications. 
    • Responsible for being proactive in maintaining a current knowledge of ACH rule updates and financial industry ACH trends in order to train and educate other staff members on ACH rules and changes. 


    • Bachelor’s degree (BA) or equivalent from a college or university and 4 or more years related experience and / or training in  branch banking services (a high school diploma or associates degree and 6 years of related experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree). 
    • Intermediate knowledge of general banking, including understanding of bank products, services, and regulations, policies and procedures.
    • 3-5 years ACH operations experience required
    • AAP Certification Required
    • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of NACHA Operating Rules
    • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of core banking FIS, FIS ACH Tracker, FEDLINE, LARU-Clarity, etc.
    • Previous experience supervising a medium group of employees (at least 6-12) preferred.
