  • Overview

    The primary duties of a Central Vault Teller are to receive and process incoming commercial deposits, make adjustments to the deposits if needed, then tranfer the verified unsorted cash to the Central Vault throughout the day. In addition, the Central Vault Teller may be responsible for maintaining money shipments and vault cash inventory, and suppling branches and commercial customers with coin and currency needs. A Central Vault Teller may also train and support less experienced Central Vault Tellers.


    • Balance cash drawer daily. 
    • Process deposits accurately and in a timely manner. 
    • Maintains daily armored car logs and obtains appropriate signatures on incoming and outgoing manifests. 
    • Supply and verify branches, business customers, and other Central Vault Tellers coin and currency. 
    • Process transfers of money (TXs) between vault and tellers. 
    • Assist in preparing shipments and orders cash and coin from the Federal Reserve. 
    • Prepare all necessary documentation when counterfeit bills come through the bank. 
    • Contact appropriate sender in event of error. 
    • Reinforces department goals and objectives. 
    • Maintains customer confidentiality. 
    • Provides superior customer service and appropriate follow through to internal and external customers. 
    • Operates a computer efficiently to process account activity, determine balances, and resolve problems within given authority. 


    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • Two (2) or more years of extensive cash handling experience. 
    • Ability to lifting 50lbs or more repeatedly and stand for long periods of time. 
    • Intermediate skills in personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; and word processing and spreadsheet software, (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). 
    • Typing skills to meet production needs of the position. 
    • Basic math skills to meet the needs of the position including counting currency, coin and negotiable instruments in a timely manner. 
    • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.   
    • Effective organizational and time management skills. 
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.
