  • Overview

    The Business Architect is responsible for the development, management, and design of products provided by the organization’s services for its customers. The Business Architect creates new product solutions, identifies growth opportunities, improves existing product portfolios and completes new product initiatives. Develops and updates processes to bring products to market efficiently and executes strategies and sales alignment to achieve company growth objectives and profitability. The Business Architect evaluates the market’s demands and evolving environment in order to introduce new bank products and services.

     

    Responsibilities

    Drives the vision and delivery of custody, escrow and payments service and products to be recognized as the market leader in overall service quality and functionality. Be a significant contributor to the design of the organization’s technology, process flows and overall product offering.

    Analyzes various market segments and collaborate with leadership to prioritize the organization’s efforts and focus on the best opportunities to pursue. Coordinates the development of a multi-year year strategic roadmap for products, markets, and ability to maximize the organization’s profit margins.

    Provides periodic updates of the overall market conditions, i.e., M&A activity, Interest rate environment, client evolution of requirements, etc. enabling the business to proactively adjust our strategy and economic forecasts appropriately. Leads and participates in planning meetings and provide advice and guidance on direction of products. Collaborates with other stakeholders such as product, marketing, sales, operations, risk and control with the ongoing enhancement of our product offering.

    Creates user stories for current and future products based on the market’s problems. Conducts periodic client / industry /market research to identify user needs to drive enhanced quality, functionality and potentially new products. Develops objective client scorecards covering overall service quality, product functionality, ease of doing business, etc., enabling the business to utilize feedback towards the enhancement of our product offering.

    Develops objective metrics to assess the success of products, features, service levels that aids in the determination of any necessary enhancements. Pushes the boundaries of advanced technology in analytics, customers sourcing, product security, profit margins, and revolutionary product service and delivery.

    Develops and fosters a philosophy to attract and retain top industry talent. Works in conjunction with Western Alliance Bank's marketing team to develop effective marketing and industry materials.

     

    Qualifications

    10+ years of proven success in product creation / development / architecture in the escrow and payment servicing industry.

    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Computer Information Systems, Finance, Business Administration, or similar program.  

    Ability to gain an in-depth and strong understanding of market dynamics and customer requirements.

    Must be highly organized, self-starter, detailed oriented and a productive time manager.

    Project management experience in the financial services industry strongly preferred.

    Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to convey results in a summarily and persuasive manner all levels of the organization.

    Ability to work on a collaborative team or independently on deliverables leveraging methodologies, best practices, and collective knowledge of the business

    Fluency in the use of all MS Office applications.
