The position of Commercial Loan Closer Team Lead is responsible for supporting the Commercial Real Estate division; ensure the loan operations activities run smoothly and efficiently, provide leadership, training and supervision within the department. Responsible for loan disbursements, engaging third party reports (including title, flood, etc.), engaging counsel, and preparing loan files. Provides a high level of customer relations and service.
Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
Provides loan operations support to all areas of the Bank where service or assistance is needed; oversees activities of Loan Closers; opens and closes the department as required.
Assist Bank management in interpreting existing loan operations regulations and to advise the Bank management of any and all changes in current regulations that pertain to loan operations.
Monitors staff in loan closing area. Work closely with the construction disbursements area and ensures appropriate staff is cross trained.
Assist persons authorized to approve credits in assessing Real Estate related risk in each transaction so that the appropriate disbursement, environmental and valuation product can be determined and a qualified vendor engaged.
Provide the Bank with a consistent and orderly process to solicit and engage vendors as needed to perform the required reports to be in compliance with governmental regulations and the Bank policies.
Select vendors to bid on each requisition based on their qualifications to perform individual assignments.
Bachelor’s degree from a four (4) year college or university; and five (5) years or more related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of an in-depth background in Real Estate loan disbursement, appraisals, environmental reports, familiarity with general ledger account reconciliation, etc. Work related experience should also consist of supervisory skills. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be applicable to the financial industry.
Experience, knowledge and training in progressively responsible Real Estate lending department operations, management and supervisory activities.
Advanced experience, knowledge and training in all lending activities and terminology.
Advanced knowledge of construction, commercial Real Estate, and Real Estate disbursement products and processing.
Advanced knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, Bank operational policies and procedures, and the Bank’s products and services.
