The Loan Operations Quality Control Specialist is responsible for administering an enterprise-wide Quality Control program to comply with lending regulations and WAB policies and procedures. Under the direction of the Compliance QC Manager’s direction, this staff member operates the ongoing testing environment as part of a 1st line of defense. Loan Operations QC Analysts collect, analyze, and report findings and identifies areas for improvement to the Compliance QC Department Manager. Provides direction to Loan Production Groups to achieve highest level of compliance with lending regulations and WAB policies and procedures.
Conducts internal review of submitted loan packages for compliance with lending regulations and WAB Loan policy and procedures. Participates in identifying recurring errors, issues, or compliance patterns in loan packages submitted for review. Thoroughly documents any findings or determinations and escalates items appropriately for further research and analysis.
Participates in achievement of Service Level Standards, risk management, quality control, and adherence to policy and procedure.
Offers support where assistance is needed, including assisting the Compliance QC manager with activity reports, audit material preparation, and special projects.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Two (2) or more years of experience in a financial institution and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank lending policies.
Basic experience, knowledge and training in lending activities, terminology and products and services.
Ability to meet regulatory deadlines with a sense of urgency while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work with limited supervisor while performing duties.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
