  • Overview

    The position of Commercial Real Estate Loan Officer I will be responsible for supporting the Relationship Manager with portfolio management and underwriting duties such as spreading, managing and maintaining financial background information on present and prospective customers with the Relationship Manager’s guidance and training to build your skills in commercial real estate lending. This position is responsible for analyzing, structuring, underwriting commercial real estate secured loans with a Relationship Manager’s guidance and support for residential, construction and commercial real estate loans in compliance with the Bank’s lending policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations.


    The Commercial Real Estate Loan Officer will also support the Relationship Manager in portfolio management for booked loans to ensure the credit risks are responsibly monitored and identified.



    • Interfaces with prospects / current clients in-person, over the phone and email in order to collect information related to their credit needs and determine the items needed for analysis. If necessary, the Relationship Manager can assist, coordinate and train in this area to build knowledge and skills before requiring any direct interface with clients.
    • Gathers and analyzes necessary information to prepare a real estate loan financing request for senior management or Loan Committee approval.
    • Supports the Relationship Manager to coordinate the processing of approved loans; ensure loans are processed according to agreement, customer needs and conform to Bank lending policies; obtain sufficient information and/or documentation from customers; solve problems relative to processing and servicing of loans within the Relationship Manager’s portfolio.
    • Reinforces superior customer service through your own example along with appropriate follow-through with involved customers and employees.

    •  Bachelor’s degree (BA) or equivalent from a four (4) year college or university; preferably in Finance or Accounting
    • Minimum of two years or more years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. 
      • Work related experience should consist of a financial and/or credit analysis or commercial lending background. 
      • Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
      • Intermediate experience, knowledge and training in financial statement and tax return analysis typically resulting from a combination of education in accounting, financial and/or credit analysis or related areas.
    • Intermediate knowledge in the use of personal computers and software programs, such as excel and word.
    • Intermediate knowledge of C&I credit analysis and or real estate credit analysis.
    • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
    • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Strong multi-tasking skills to juggle multiple credit requests at once.
    • Demonstrate strong analytical and project management skills for a variety of tasks or projects.
    • Self-starter, entrepreneurial attitude and an upbeat positive outlook.
