  • Overview

    The position of Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting with the accounting and financial reporting of the Company.   This position reports to a Financial Reporting Manager as well as collaborating with other members of the accounting staff on a range of matters, such as monthly GL close including preparation of schedules and journal entries, SEC reporting, regulatory reporting, or other assigned projects.  This position also ensures compliance with SOX, all policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations. 


    In addition to the above, the individual selected for this Sr. Accountant role will play a significant role in managing the timeline and deliverables associated with the month-end GL closing process, and facilitating completion of data requests by the external audit firm.  Additionally, the incumbent will have assigned duties related to maintaining, monitoring, documenting, and testing the completeness of IPE (“information prepared by entity”, and specifically, critical reports & spreadsheets) associated with SOX key controls.


    • Work closely with the Financial Reporting Managers to complete the month-end, quarter-end and annual close process. 
    • Provide support to all assigned areas in the Accounting Department where service or assistance is needed. 
    • Assist with preparation of financial schedules and analysis that comprise regulatory and SEC
    • Assist in accounting for complex transactions such as loan sales, acquisitions and disposals, goodwill impairment valuations, and other transactions that require research and analysis. 
    • Assist with interpretation and implementation of accounting pronouncement changes. 
    • Interface with management, external auditors and regulatory agencies concerning accounting and SOX requirements


    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business is required
    • Minimum of two (3) years public accounting experience, or Seven+ (7+) years with progressively increased responsibility, preferably within a financial services firm.
    • CPA license (or CPA path) is preferred
    • An intermediate level of experience / knowledge of GAAP and/or SEC reporting is required.
    • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Excellent analytical and organization skills.
    • Ability to effectively interact with all levels within the Company and subsidiaries.
    • Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
    • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word.
